Measure the usable envelope, not just nominal square footage

A current Alan's Factory Outlet 24×30 page describes a 24 ft by 30 ft configured carport with 720 square feet of covered space, standard 6 ft legs and selectable taller heights, side panels and colors. The seller also describes online ordering with delivery/installation in supported service areas. That is useful commercial evidence—but it is not a universal 24×30 specification.
Different roof styles, regional configurations, gauge options and certification packages can change the structural system. Even within one dealer, the exact offered specification and service area can change with ZIP.
Why the extra four feet of nominal width matters
Relative to a 20-ft-wide class, 24 ft can materially improve side-by-side door opening, walking room and separation from posts. Whether all four nominal feet become usable depends on post placement and frame geometry.
