Eagle Carports' current anatomy guide explicitly separates these three styles. In its own product system, Eagle describes vertical as its strongest roof style and emphasizes improved water/debris shedding. That is useful brand-specific evidence—not a universal rule that every vertical-roof product from every manufacturer outranks every horizontal-roof product.
A boxed-eave carport can look like a conventional gable roof while still using roof panels that run front-to-back. A vertical roof can use a similar A-frame silhouette while orienting sheets from ridge to eave.
